SELF PITY THE LATEST INDIAN FASHION

DANCE INDIA DANCE DID a.k.a. CRY INDIA CRY CIC – THE BIGGER PICTURE

I have been watching DID (as I will refer to it in my post) for quite sometime now. I have watched most of the audition episodes and now the real thing.

I am sure that I am not the only one wondering if the show should be renamed to CIC instead of the current DID. The crying and the sad music really piss me off.

The music they put on is such that as if the contestants are going to be electrocuted after their eliminations. It is really pathetic. The contestants cry their mentors cry and so do the people in the audience.

Of course getting eliminated and loosing out on the big bucks is sad thing but give me a break, it is not end of the world and that’s as if they were promised that all the 18 guys are going to showered on with moolah and now they are being cheated by elimination. Its ridiculous.

You cant win till the others have lost it’s a fact. So I cannot understand why the other contestants start emptying their tear glands (…believe me I wanted to write something else…) when actually they come to know that there is one contestant less to fight with now on. A little sadness is understandable but the way in which the show is conducted is just horrible.

But of course this not the only show or should I say reality show….where this obnoxious display of emotions is promoted. Some other shows had the “GURUS” and “MAHAGURUS” literally punching each other and pulling out each others eyeballs… J.I am sure DID OR CIC will make up for this lost time and the 3 judges here will spare no effort to match up. Parents fighting mentors shouting contestants crying…really awful..

There is no doubt that the underprivileged should be given precedence over the well placed. But this cannot be a substitute for quality and performance. Nobody really cares if you are rich or poor when you are boarding a flooded Mumbai local…so the same rule applies here as well. Survival of the fittest.

People we…we Indians should shun this melodramatic mentality where we give in to this cheap display of emotions and start voting someone just because he or she is poor or underprivileged. I am sure the other contestants don’t feel the same way about these guys who will get votes just by showing of their dirty linen on TV.Instead any one who tries to win votes by such nonsense should be voted off the show.

This unnecessary cheap display of emotions brings out a very sorry figure of us Indians who then seem to be always drowned in self-pity.

Its really disgusting. The country, which houses 20% of the world population, is just a bunch of losers…no way. We are extremely powerful nation and I am proud of it.

Unfortunately raking up the emotions of the masses by cheaply showing off our poverty and adversity has become a real fashion these days.

“Slumdog millionaire” shows the mentality of the British or the outside world (Dogs and Indians not allowed…just ot refresh our memories) towards us. Even after 50 years of Independence they don’t look up to us…they look down upon us. Poor people hungry people. real India…and then it gets lauded with Oscars and what not…A thousand brilliant movies have been made till date in Bollywood but none was so publicized. But this one where the Brits mock us by showcasing our poverty and hopelessness gets so much appreciation. Thus it shows what people think of us Indians.

When Jade Gudy..peace be upon her…you know she is dying.. Insulted Shilpa what she did was “CRY…BITTERLY CRY”. Thus she hypnotised the poor emotional Indians and went on to win the contest. Just to remind you ever since… she has been staying more in UK and less in India. Don’t forget the number of police cases against her. How simple it was for her to make us poor Indians feel sad about her. She should have just slapped Jade right away and I would have been the happiest person. Show some self-esteem that’s all I would say.

We need to deeply look into ourselves and see from where this demon of self-pity has grabbed our minds. We are brave people strong intelligent and the list continues.

Stop giving in to cheap vulgar display of adversity poverty. Hold your heads high and just visualise our national flag flying and fluttering happily and its might on the blowing wind and you will forget all the pangs of self-loathing and self-pity.

Just remember no one would have revered the lotus if it had covered up itself with the mud and clutter around it and lied low down with the mess. Its only because it raises its head up high above the mud that we embrace it as one of our revered national symbols….

So get up don’t go down…….

Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaai Hind
